Hydrostatic pump o-rings 9650

I need to change the o-rings on the hydrostatic servo cans of a 9650 due to leaking.

I ordered the ones listed in the online parts system.

Dismantled. Found the o-rings are way too big.

Dealer checked the numbers and agreed they are correct, then gave me dimensions of the o-rings as per spec, again correct.

So, looks like my hydrostatic pump is not the origional standard one that should be fitted to the machine. Have to expect a few things like this with old gear. But, should be okay because the pump has an ID plate with numbers stamped on it.

Wrong!

Dealer then contacted John Deere headquarters with the details on the identification plate, and they came back and said that pump was cancelled in 2005 and they were unable to break it down to get part numbers for the o-rings.

So I'm now faced with trying to get o-rings from a custom seal supplier, unless someone here has any ideas about how I can get the right ones?

When I measure the grooves I get a measurement of 62.56mm for one and 68.84mm for the other, both 3.62mm wide.

I presume o-rings are measured by inside diameter?

Is the o-ring inside diameter exactly the same as the groove diameter, or is it slightly different for a snug fit?

The O-Ring Store LLC, We make getting O-Rings easy! I have one of their service kits that comes with card and app to find correct oring sizes. It does come in handy at times.

Or most any hydraulic shop. Should be able to measure and get what you need.
Yes, we're a long way from any hydraulic shop though, and I really didn't think it would be difficult to get the correct ones from John Deere.
