Greetings everyone, I am new here. I would like to ask a question. How well will a 1420 handle an 820 twenty foot grain table? the reason I ask is because my 15 foot 820 has a broken wobble box mount, and I am told that the mount is a part of the frame and cannot be replaced. So I am looking for a different grain table, I can find several 820 twenty footers for a reasonable price. It was suggested to me to look at 1020's but they are a little out of my price range at this point. any advice you all can give would be awsome.

What grains are you running and bpa? It mite be a lil front heavy but should work. Mite hafta drive a lil slower. Like 33% slower. My neighbor had one he bought new with a 20ft but only ran soybeans. Think in wheat or oats would be alot to ask out of it. Hopefully sombody has a better answer.

I would take it to a machine shop

The weight won't be an issue but power might be, if I remember right the 1420 had an engine all of its own.

I would see if someone would let you try out a 20 footer just to see

It really shouldn't be part of the frame since it has a floating cutter bar

They had the German in them. 358? Like the 715 and 826. It was its own machine. Smaller rotor and sieve. Hard to get much more power out of it with smoke screw. 10hp was about max.

As others said talk to the machine shop. If it cant be replaced it can be rebuilt. But would be a good time to go to a bigger head. I would look around a bit more in the meantime, there is alot of fairly cheap 1020s around and would cut and feed alot better.
