Using an '84 6620 with 215 flexhead in soybeans. The reel speed control knob turns freely until the oil is warm at which time it can no longer be adjusted. Have replaced the control with another used one with no success. Anyone know what the problem is?

johnsonfarm53,, Are you saying that you can change the reel speed until the oil is warm, and then you can't change the reel speed. Or that you can't turn the knob once the oil is warm?

METERING PLUG NYLON INSERT IS OVERSIZED. AS OIL TEMPERATURE REACHES
THE NORMAL OPERATING RANGE, THE INSERT BINDS OR LOCKS UP INSIDE THE
HOUSING.
REMOVE THE METERING PLUG FROM THE FLOW CONTROL VALVE
AND REPLACE IT WITH A NEW AH122354 METERING PLUG KIT.
Do not know if the kit is available

Open dash, tighten loose clamps on hose that connects the shaft coming out of the knob to the flow control shaft.
